Legato Systems, Inc. is formally announcing the retirement of the following XtenderSolutions for Content Management products and versions. Legato’s policy is to maintain and provide support for the current release of a product and one prior release. The older versions of the XtenderSolutions for the Content Management products as well as the products being retired (COLDXtender, ScanXtender Professional and Image Print Server) utilize technology that is no longer current. Where possible, Legato and/or DMIS are offering an upgrade or migration path to current technology.
Notwithstanding any statement or provision in this notification to the contrary, the terms and conditions of your license and maintenance support are governed exclusively by your license agreement with Legato.
- Content Management suite, versions 3.x, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 includes ApplicationXtender, WebXtender, ERMXtender, WorkflowXtender, ScanXtender, ReportXtender
- COLDXtender (all versions)
- ScanXtender Professional (all versions)
- Image Print Server (all versions)
Migration and Upgrade Plans
If you are using any of these products and versions, plan on upgrading as follows:
Content Management retired version, 3.x, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4
Legato recommends upgrading to the most current version of the product, v4.61. Contact your local DMIS Sales Representative to obtain the latest release. Customers with current maintenance agreements can upgrade to the current version at no additional software charge.
ReportXtender Customers can utilize Digitech's PaperFlow
COLDXtender
Legato recommends migrating to the current release of ERMXtender v4.61. Contact your local Legato Sales Representative or Channel Support to obtain the latest release. Customers with current maintenance agreements can migrate to the current ERMXtender version at no additional software charge (ERMX Server price is waived; maintenance and professional services are still applicable). This upgrade pricing is available through May 31, 2003. Participating in Legato’s ERMXtender training classes is highly recommended. Professional Services is available to assist in the migration at their standard rates.
ScanXtender Professional
Digitech PaperFlow is an alternative, powerful scanning solution. DMIS recommends migrating to PaperFlow Capture Software.
Image Print Server
Image Print Server is a Windows NT print manager that works with ApplicationXtender to accelerate the processing of print commands by handling the retrieval and spooling of printed documents freeing the workstation for other operations. With the advancements in computer networking and printing, IPS has become obsolete, replaced by network (LAN) printers and improved Windows desktop technology.
